Long before bottled shampoos arrived, Indian households cared for their hair with a simple handful of Reetha, Shikakai, Amla and Mehndi. The Hair Care Combo from Vaidya Village brings that time-honoured ritual back to your bathroom shelf in four pure, single-herb powders. There are no harsh sulphates, no synthetic foam boosters and no silicones here, only the plants your family has trusted for generations, ground fresh and ready to use.
Used together as a weekly hair-wash and hair-pack protocol, these four herbs do what a single product rarely can. Reetha and Shikakai gently lift away dirt and excess oil while keeping the scalp calm, Amla feeds the roots and helps maintain natural strength and shine, and Mehndi conditions each strand and adds a healthy, glossy finish. It is real, hands-on hair care, made simple, honest and beautifully affordable.
The magic of this combo lies in how the four herbs cover each other's gaps. Reetha (soapnut) is naturally rich in saponins, the plant compounds that create a soft, mild lather to cleanse hair and scalp without stripping away natural oils the way chemical detergents often do. Shikakai has a naturally low pH, so it cleanses in tune with the scalp, helps loosen tangles and is traditionally used to keep hair smooth and manageable. Where these two clean, Amla nourishes, it is a classic Ayurvedic tonic for the hair that supports the roots, helps maintain natural colour and depth, and brings out shine.
Mehndi (henna) completes the circle by coating and conditioning the hair shaft, adding body and a healthy sheen while helping to keep the scalp cool and comfortable. Cleanse, nourish, condition, all in one sitting, this is the synergy that makes the protocol work. Rather than layering multiple bottled products, you use one balanced blend of whole herbs that support the scalp and strands together, exactly as they were meant to be used.
For a hair-wash: soak 1-2 tablespoons each of Reetha and Shikakai (and a little Amla) in warm water overnight, then strain and use the liquid to gently massage and rinse your hair. For a hair-pack: mix Amla and Mehndi powders with warm water (add a squeeze of lemon or a little curd if you like) into a smooth paste, apply from roots to tips, leave on for 45 minutes to an hour, then rinse well. Use as a full protocol once or twice a week for best results. Always do a small patch test before first use.
