About Moringa Leaf Powder (Sahjan Patti)
Moringa Leaf, known in Ayurveda as Shigru Patra and popularly as Sahjan Patti, comes from Moringa oleifera, the fast-growing "Miracle Tree" native to the sub-Himalayan tracts of India. For centuries its tender green leaves have been eaten as a nourishing pot-herb and used in classical formulations. Today they are celebrated worldwide as one of the most nutrient-dense plant foods on earth, packing plant protein, vitamins A and C, calcium, iron, potassium and a rich spread of antioxidants into a single leaf.
In Ayurvedic terms, Shigru carries Katu (pungent) and Tikta (bitter) rasa, is Laghu (light), Ruksha (dry) and Tikshna (sharp) in guna, Ushna (hot) in virya and Katu in vipaka. It is classically regarded as Kapha-Vata shamaka, meaning it helps balance heaviness, sluggishness and dampness in the body. Traditional texts value it as deepana-pachana (kindling digestion), shothahara (helping ease swelling and puffiness) and as a rejuvenating green that supports strength and vitality.
At Vaidya Village, our Moringa Leaf is carefully harvested, gently shade/sun-dried to preserve its deep green colour and delicate nutrients, and offered as clean cut-leaf and stone-ground powder with no fillers, colours or additives. It blends easily into warm water, smoothies, dals, chutneys and herbal teas, making it an effortless way to add greens to a modern diet.
Moringa is a food-grade botanical suitable for daily wellness routines. It is traditionally used to support immunity, steady energy, healthy metabolism and balanced blood sugar as part of a nutritious lifestyle rather than as a treatment for any specific disease.

Precautions & Safety
For external labelling honesty: Moringa leaf is generally well tolerated as a food, but a few sensible cautions apply. Pregnancy: avoid medicinal/high doses of moringa leaf and especially bark and root (root, bark and extracts contain compounds that may stimulate the uterus); pregnant and breastfeeding women should use only under professional guidance. Its Ushna (heating) nature may aggravate Pitta or cause mild acidity, loose stools or heartburn in sensitive individuals or at high doses - reduce the amount if this occurs. People on blood-sugar or blood-pressure medication should monitor levels and consult their doctor, as moringa may enhance these effects. Those with thyroid conditions or on hypothyroid medication should seek advice before regular use. Use only the leaf (not root or bark, which can be unsafe). Discontinue and seek medical advice if any allergic reaction occurs. Keep out of reach of children.
