About Giloy (Guduchi) Powder
Giloy, known in the classical texts as Guduchi and honoured with the epithet "Amrita" (the nectar of immortality), is one of the most revered Rasayana (rejuvenative) herbs in Ayurveda. This offering is the pure, dried mature stem of Tinospora cordifolia, a climbing shrub of the Menispermaceae family whose succulent, heart-shaped leaves give it its species name. For centuries the woody stem has been the prized part, gathered and dried to concentrate its bitter, tonic constituents.
In Ayurvedic terms Guduchi is Tikta (bitter) and Kashaya (astringent) in taste, Guru (heavy) and Snigdha (unctuous) in quality, Ushna (warming) in potency, with a Madhura (sweet) post-digestive effect. This rare combination makes it Tridoshahara - able to help pacify all three doshas, and especially valued for cooling aggravated Pitta and clearing excess Kapha while not disturbing Vata. It is classically described as Jwaraghna (used in fevers), Deepana (kindling digestion), Rasayana (rejuvenating), Balya (strengthening) and Medhya (supporting the mind).
Traditionally, Giloy has been woven into daily wellness as an immunity-supporting kadha during changing seasons, as a bitter tonic for the liver and digestion, and as a supportive herb for healthy blood sugar, clear skin, comfortable joints and balanced uric acid. Because of its reputation for restoring strength after illness, it remains a cornerstone convalescence tonic.
Our Giloy stem is sourced from mature vines, carefully cleaned and shade-dried to preserve its natural bitterness and active phytochemistry. It can be brewed as a decoction, ground into churna, or used in classical formulations. As with any potent herb, it is best used with the guidance of a qualified Ayurvedic physician, especially alongside other medicines.

Traditionally taken once or twice daily, ideally on an empty stomach in the morning and/or before bed. Start with a smaller amount and adjust to suit you. Not a substitute for balanced nutrition or medical care; please consult a qualified Ayurvedic physician or healthcare provider before use, especially if you are pregnant, nursing, managing a health condition, or taking other medication.
Precautions & Safety
Use only authentic Tinospora cordifolia - misidentification or adulteration with the more bitter Tinospora crispa has been linked in some reports to liver stress, so correct sourcing matters. As Giloy may lower blood sugar, those on anti-diabetic medication should monitor levels closely to avoid hypoglycaemia. Because it can stimulate immune activity, people with autoimmune conditions (such as rheumatoid arthritis, lupus or multiple sclerosis) should use it only under medical supervision. Discontinue and seek advice if signs of digestive upset, jaundice or unusual fatigue appear. Safety data in pregnancy and lactation is limited, so avoid unless advised by a physician. Keep out of reach of children. This product is a traditional herbal supplement and is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease.
